This is the process in which a DVD
disc image can be transferred to DLT for glass mastering. AVC Corporation's mastering department verifies the data, making certain that it meets the customer's specifications. Then, on a special glass disc covered with
'photo-resist', a laser beam modulates according to the information on the DLT tape and writes the data onto the disc by creating chemically-etched pits. From this glass master, a metal master (the father master) is produced
and then negative sub-masters (the mother masters) and finally stampers (baby masters) are created using a process called electroforming. The stamper is the metal master which will be utilized in the DVD injection molding
machinery. Special test equipment verifies that the test discs are in full compliance with the client's specifications.
